Valve Maintenance and Operations

Course Objective
This course emphasizes how to safely operate valves. The function(s) of, principles of operation, basic components and basic types of valves are covered. Hand-wheels and types of valve operators are included. Minor maintenance including inspection, valve hand-wheel/nut tightening and/or replacement and packing/gland adjustment is covered.
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to safely operate valves including motor operated valves and perform minor maintenance on manually operated valves.

This course is designed for Maintenance Operators (MO) or people that routinely operate valves and/or perform minor maintenance on manually operated valves.
